To apply for admission to TPSA, please complete the application using the link above. Student applications for grades 6,7,8 will be added to the current waiting list in the order that they are received. The 5th grade lottery will be held in accordance with the information below.
In compliance with Section 59-40-50 of the South Carolina Code of Laws for Charter Schools, Tall Pines STEM Academy will admit all students eligible to attend public school throughout South Carolina, subject to space limitations.
Applications may be mailed to Tall Pines STEM Academy or parents may apply directly online through the school’s website. Online applications are preferred. Tall Pines STEM Academy will accept applications for the 5th grade lottery until February 21st at 3:00 PM. Upon submitting the form electronically, parents will be notified that the application was successfully submitted.
If the number of applications received by 3:00 PM February 21, 2018 exceeds the number of pupils permitted (48), a lottery will be conducted at 6:00 PM at the school. Applications received after the deadline will be considered on a space-available basis and in the order upon which they are received.
The lottery will be conducted as a public meeting at 6:00 PM on February 21, 2018 and representatives of TPSA and a member of the Board of Directors will be on hand to conduct and ensure lawful operation of the lottery.
Failure to complete and return the Student Packet may result in loss of the enrollment seat, which would then be offered to the next student on the waiting list. All reasonable attempts will be made to assist the family in completion of the required materials and documentation, and all efforts will be officially documented before the seat is offered to the next student on the list.
TPSA’s returning students will not be required to re-apply or be subject to the public lottery, but each year will be required to notify the school of their intent by January 31 of each year. If the intent to return is received after the specified date, continued placement cannot be guaranteed.
